So, I am a bit late on sharing these two creations but I have a valid excuse—>I didn’t have a blog back when I made them! The first thing I am going to share with you is this lovely little top I made using a tutorial from Prudent Baby.
I know it doesn’t look like much in this picture but wait until you see my littlest beauty decked out in it! So, if you want instructions on how to make this then you definitely need to click on the link above because I am just sharing my version of it with you. There is nothing wrong with being inspired by others but you should always give credit where credit is due 🙂 The changes I made are these: I made a peasant TOP instead of a peasant DRESS, I used corduroy instead of flannel, and I added a bit of lace to the bottom and a cute little rosette to the top left corner to tie it all in 🙂
I also cut tie-backs off of an old top of mine that was on its way to Goodwill to use as a belt (Emma NEEDED a waistline after all!) See, doesn’t that look MUCH cuter on?? This pattern is very forgiving and it took me under two hours to make this top—>not bad at all! That was before I had my cutting mat and rotary tool to boot! P.S. Did you notice the Snowman in the backdrop, told you this is from a while ago…hehe
A pair of dashing gold ballet flats really helps pull this whole outfit together don’t cha think? 🙂 About a week before making this little number I made a belt for Mikayla using this Gathered Belt Tutorial from A Lemon Squeezy Home…
Action View 🙂 This tutorial was also SUPER easy and I can’t wait to go to the Garment District in LA and pick-up some fun spring fabrics so that I can make more of these for Mikayla. I think they would look great with rosette or button embellishments! Hope you enjoyed this post and that maybe you will attempt one of these projects! I would love to see what you come up with 🙂
